Autumn Skin Care
Summer has come to an end and undoubtedly left behind a few more dark spots, dryness, and overall dull skin. Our skin continually works to balance the moisture and oil content to keep it healthy and able to do its primary job of protection. Skin’s secondary job is a messenger. Acne, rosacea, pigmentation and broken capillaries are all signs of something more going on internally, of which Osmosis has several products to help detox the body and skin. It’s time to start thinking about your Autumn skin care. Here are a few things to consider. Exfoliate: It’s imperative to exfoliate when it comes to repairing and brightening the complexion. Autumn is the most common time of year for breakouts due to summer’s increased oil production combined with Autumn’s cooler weather can create layers of dead skin cell buildup. Cleanse the skin, exfoliate 1-2 times per week and add a hydrating mask once a week to aid with hydration. Serums: Skin is alive and needs to be nourished to stay healthy and strong. Osmosis has a wide range of serums to help repair, regenerate, reduce pigmentation and clear broken capillaries. Hydrate: Toners and serums, along with drinking plenty of water are great ways to give your skin the water it needs to stay supple. After cleansing, apply a toner and serum(s), and finish with a moisturizer to keep the products from evaporating from the skin’s surface. Protect: Even in cooler weather, the sun can damage the skin. The UV rays are equally as strong in Autumn and Winter as they are in Summer. Use a broad spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen EVERY DAY. The number one cause of premature aging is UV light. Sunscreen is the easiest and best way to prevent future spots and wrinkles. Night Care: it’s important to cleanse the face every night. Cleansing the day’s makeup, oil and dirt from the skin allows the skin to receive the products and moisturizer more effectively. Get 7-8 hrs. of sleep/night. Sufficient sleep reduces dark circles under the eyes and allows the body to repair and rejuvenate itself. Professional Care: While skin care products can do a lot to improve the condition of the skin, they can only do so much. Most people see an increase in “goal related” results from a professional facial, red light treatment, or micro-needling treatment. A series of these treatments aid in the collagen and elastin production, repair of the skin’s barrier and fading pf hyperpigmentation.
